Don't forget your coat!
With the colder weather, please ensure that your child brings a warm, waterproof coat to school every day. Unless it is very wet, children spend their breaktime and lunchtime play outside.
Following the TTRS England Rocks competition, we'll be continuing a weekly class challenge through the rest of the school year! This week's class winners are: Year 3 Elm, Year 4 Yew, Year 5 Sycamore and Year 6 Oak. Well done!

From Tuesday 28th November to Thursday 30th November, Mrs Rouillard will be running a pop-up bookshop in school. During the school day, children will be able to browse over 200 fiction and non-fiction books, from award-winners and new releases to beloved favourites and bestsellers, and the bookshop will be open for purchases each day from 3:30 - 4:30 pm in the Junior Library (entry via the Junior Library door). This is a great opportunity to stock up on Christmas presents and, for every book bought, you will also help us to earn free books for our libraries.
The easiest way to pay for books at the Fair is to pre-purchase gift vouchers available here although we will be able to accept cash and cards.

Congratulations to our competition winners who have each won a voucher to spend at the Book Fair: Saanchi (Foxglove); Aline (Bracken); Tallulah (Beech); Rayva (Yew); Riyaa (Lime); Rei-Green (Elder). We loved your designs!
Book of the Week
'Friends and Traitors' by Helen Peters
When Sidney's new school is evacuated to a manor house in Oxfordshire during World War II, she reads murder mysteries and writes letters to her brother in the RAF to distract her from her unkind schoolmates and the housemaid, Nancy, who seems to hate her. But when Nancy and Sidney both overhear a shocking conversation, they must work together to expose the traitors and stop a plot to hand the country over to Hitler.
WWII evacuees is a topic that is regularly addressed in children's historical fiction, probably because of the Year 6 curriculum, but this story is fresh, fun and fast-paced. Sidney and Nancy are both particularly feisty and engaging characters, and I loved Sidney's sense of humour. A gripping and satisfying read!
~ Mrs Rouillard, School Librarian
The overall winner this week is RICHMOND

Hamper Raffle - donations, mufti day and volunteers on Friday 1st December
A reminder that next Friday 1st December we will be collecting your donations for our festive hampers, and in return your children can come to school dressed in their own clothes. We would love donations of non-perishable luxury or festive items (e.g. wine, chocolates, biscuits, pickles, condiments such as jams, chutneys and preserves, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, a candle or some lovely toiletries, small children's toys and other stocking fillers, Christmas crackers or tree decorations etc.). If you have any business contacts who can donate items, we would be very grateful! We still need three or four more volunteers to help our team make up the hampers like the ones pictured on Friday morning - please do let your Class Rep know if you can help, or you can also email us at: email@example.com. Thank you.
