Pupil expectations and general information for parents
At the start of this new school year, we will be talking to the children about how they should present themselves and behave in school. You can find further information on our expectations on the website here. We ask all families to support us in making our school a place where everyone can work together in a calm and well-ordered environment which is conducive to teaching and learning and would be very grateful if you could discuss them with your child at home. Please note in particular that children may not wear earrings in school. We would also like to remind you that we are are nut free school - please do not send your child into school with nuts or products containing nuts.

Bedtime Story Writing Competition
During assembly this week we told all the children from Year 1 to Year 6 about a bedtime story writing competition run by the Book People. There are three age categories: 5-7, 8-9 and 10-11 with the opportunity to win £250 of books. The overall winner will have their story illustrated and published! The closing date is 29th October 2018 and you can find all the details of the competition here at www.bookpeople.co.uk
If your child does decide to enter, please do ask them to give Mrs Stephenson a copy of their story to share with everyone. Happy writing!
Year 2 Trip to West Wittering
Year 2 had a brilliant time on their trip to West Wittering beach trip this week. We were all very pleased that the weather was so sunny! The children were exceptionally well behaved and had great fun collecting shells and building amazing sand sculptures on the beach. A huge thank you to all the parents that gave up their time to join us. A special thank you to Mr Pantling too for all his support on the day!
Mrs Farr & the Year 2 team.
Year 3 Trip to Thames Young Mariners
This week, Year 3 children spent a day at Thames Young Mariners, a unique 25 acre site alongside the River Thames between Richmond and Kingston dedicated to learning and discovery in the natural environment. The children all took part in a variety of challenging outdoor activities which focused on developing their collaborative skills, ranging from orienteering to build their map reading skills to team challenges and archery. Plenty of fun was had by all despite the chilly weather!
