Our junior travel ambassadors, Arjun, Joseph and Scarlett, have designed a competition!
They would like to invite the children to design a poster about road safety, using a footprint template that is available from the box in the KS2 library.
The closing date for the competition has been extended, so please encourage your children to enter. All entries go in to the box in the library. Thank you and good luck!
Fern Hill Baby News!
Many congratulations to Mrs Thompson (year 3 teaching assistant) who welcomed a new baby girl into her family this week. Both Mum and baby are doing well, and we all wish them well.
We are also pleased to announce there will be another addition to the Fern Hill baby family this summer. Congratulations go to Mrs Tagg, Clover class teacher, who is expecting her second child in May. Her maternity leave dates are yet to be confirmed, we will inform the class parents as soon as they are agreed.
The overall winner this week is School Kingston
Sharing our Stories & Cultures in our Community
At the beginning of February will be be celebrating cultures in the community across the whole school. We would like to hear from any parents or carers that have a cultural story that they would be happy to share with their child's class or maybe even a larger group. Please let your class teacher know if you think you can share your story. Further details about the event will follow shortly.
The PSA invite you to chase away the January blues at their annual Quiz Night…
Quiz Night is all set for Friday 26th January and will be held in the Large Hall. Tickets are on sale now and will be available to buy outside the KS1 gates on Monday and Tuesday morning next week from 08:30 – 09:00 am or from the school office. They cost £8.50 each which includes fish & chips from the amazing ‘Frying Squad’, freshly cooked on site (with vegetarian and meat options too) plus a contribution to the prize fund for the winning team. It’s a BYO night - bring your own drink and any nibbles or desserts you would like for your table. Tickets can be paid for by cash or cheque payable to ‘Fern Hill PSA’. You can make up a team (maximum of ten people please!) or join a team on the night. This is an event for the grown-ups only - parents, carers and staff are very welcome to bring friends who do not have children at the school. Doors open at 7.30 pm and the Quiz will end at 10.30 pm. Please see the attached poster for more information. If you have any questions, get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
