Voluntary Fund

Voluntary Fund - Registered Charity Number 1170469

The purpose of the voluntary fund is to relieve the impact of reducing government funding of schools which, if left unaddressed, would soon leave the school in an unsustainable financial position.

The conclusion of our parent survey in 2016 indicated that more than 66 per cent of respondents were willing to make voluntary contributions.

Making a Contribution

Parents may donate as much as they would like to. Some parents may be unable to, or not wish to donate at all. A suggested contribution of £10 a month, if made by every family, would help us raise some £50,000 towards replacing ICT equipment used for teaching and learning. Parents may prefer to make a single £120 annual payment or £40 per term.

A larger payment than suggested may be made, but please understand that there is no obligation to make any contribution.  We would like to stress that this is a voluntary contribution and any amount, large or small will always be welcome.

How to Make Payment

Contributions can be made by BACS transfer or standing order into the Fund’s bank account or by cash or cheque through the school office.  Payments can also be made via the shop in ParentMail. 

A single payment for the school year, a termly payment, or a monthly payment can be made.

BACS transfer:  You can pay directly into the fund using BACS transfer. The bank account details are:

Standing Order:  You can pay directly into the fund by setting up a Standing Order with your bank. The bank account details are:

Cash:  Cash should be put in a named envelope stating ‘Fern Hill Primary Volunteers Fund’ and handed into the school office where a receipt will be issued.

Cheque:  Cheques should be made out to ‘Fern Hill Primary Volunteers Fund’ and handed into the school office where a receipt will be issued.

ParentMail: Payment may be made online via the shop on ParentMail. There are two options: The monthly instalment option which will remind you to pay £10 every month of the year or the £10 option which allows you to make a one off payment of as many multiples of £10 as you choose.

Gift Aid: The fund is a registered chairy (No.1170469) enabling gift aid to be reclaimed. Attached is a Gift Aid Form which tax payers can complete that allows us to claim gift aid on every donation and which provides an additional 25p for every pound donated.  This would add £30 to an annual donation of £120.
