Dear Parents & Carers

A warm welcome back to the start of a new school year. I hope you and your families had a relaxing and enjoyable summer break and feel energised and excited by the New Year ahead.

I would like to welcome all our new families to Fern Hill and hope that you and your children have settled well into school life.  There is a real infectious buzz around the school which is wonderful to see each day.

On behalf of all the staff we are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential.  We recognise that in order to be happy and successful in school, our children need support from both home and school.  We know strong partnerships with you will make a great difference in your child’s wellbeing and education.

As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.  We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

· Attends school daily and arrives on time , ready for the day’s learning

· Completes all homework assigned by teachers

· Reads daily to develop a love of reading

· Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of life at school

· Informs you if he/she needs support or has concerns

We would also very much welcome your involvement in school to support the children’s learning. Further information with regards to how you can support in school will be sent out shortly.
